Remnants of Gathering

A wryly humorous installation featuring the exhausted instruments of intoxication. Magnified beyond life size, it stands as a monument to the pleasures of the now unseen gatherees.

Nestling within a pitch black ashtray scattered with white ash and filters, the three butts are detailed with singe marks - their orange tips reaching out to us along with the more contented pinniped-like vape resplendent in striking blue. A plastic bag of illicit content completes the composition.

We are left to contemplate the residue of transcendence and joy sought and its lonely aftermath.

This work is part of a larger exhibition 'Silly Goose' at The Good Rice Gallery in London curated by Levi Naidu-Mitchell.
