Glitter Teeth Inside My Thunder Chest

The gallery, departing from canonical whitewash, bathes this work in a light Post-It note yellow. Cohorts of marks varied in form collaborate to present a kinesis of transmuting matter and energy.

Viewed as conceptual landscape, the upper third could be suggesting a blanched yellow sky accompanied by mauve, ruby, and purple blocks as rocky outcrops or mountains. The upper-right splattered cherry red acts as textural counterpoint.

As the gaze navigates lower, moss green washes give way to yellow green pulses like seals dancing amidst lilac shoals. Black curved lines give a central scaffolding from which a maelstrom of thick pink strokes drip their colour down in delicate rivulets.

There is a potency to such vehemence rendered in a floral palette. The clash of teeth and thunder.

There is no such thing as
good painting about nothing.

We assert that the subject is crucial
and only that subject matter is valid
which is tragic and timeless.
