Entopic painting I, 2025

The entoptic is a physical superimposition upon perception available only to the perceiver.

There is a dense packing within this multiplanar work which nonetheless remains spacious. A burning background comes wrapped in turquoise ribbons, orange smoke trails with notes of bonfire and honey.

There is a consonant incongruence as strong lines question but do not answer. Shadows are cast whilst a diaphanous silken symbol floats above the tumult. A nascent form it appears bladed perhaps evolved from its original state. An intelligence emerging from the smooth colour mists behind it.

Seen at Galerie Max Hetzler, London on 5 Nov 2025 as part of a solo exhibition 'Nile'.
